The Occipital Polyaxial Screw Partially Threaded is a type of spinal implant used for occipito-cervical fusion surgeries, specifically designed for the joint between the skull and neck vertebrae. Alongside the polyaxial design of the screw (allowing for 30* degree angulation), the screw also comprises a partially threaded design which allows secure fixation in the denser occiput bone and flexibility in the weaker atlas bone. The screw provides improved stability, reduced stress on the bone-screw interface, beneficial for patients with bone quality issues in the upper cervical spine.
